A few photographs, two paths that almost crossed, and the long way to finding each other.

Two ships…
As it turns out, Claire and John’s story began long before they actually met.
Ten years ago, they were both living in Baltimore, moving through the same neighborhoods and frequenting the same places without ever meeting. John was managing Clavel when it first opened, just steps from Claire’s apartment in Remington. She passed the bar on her daily commute and knew many of the servers. Somehow, the two never crossed paths.
Or so they thought. There is photographic evidence of how close they came: one picture shows John in the foreground with Claire in the background. In another, taken by Claire at a mutual friend’s birthday party, John appears in the group. They kept showing up in the edges of each other’s lives.
Five years later, both living in New York, they finally connected. Claire chose Margaritaville in Atlantic City as the perfect place to ask John to be her boyfriend. Eventually, they moved in together and became a little family with Claire’s beloved cat, Keke, who quickly became John’s, too.
After so many years in the background of each other’s photographs, Claire and John finally found themselves in the same frame.
VIENNA · SUMMER 2026
A moment among the roses.
In the summer of 2026, while walking through a rose garden in Vienna, John waited for just the right moment. When they had the garden to themselves, he got down on one knee and asked Claire to marry him. Of course, she said yes.
Roses have always meant something to Claire. As a child, she had a book about flower fairies, and her mother had a Rose Fairy costume made just for her. Years later, the enchanted rose from Beauty and the Beast inspired Claire’s logo. John knew she loved roses; he didn’t know just how far back that love went.
The rest of the trip became one long celebration. From Vienna to Verona and Venice, they spent the following days exploring, making memories, and enjoying the beginning of their next chapter.
